Kate Merridew
Student Performance Development Leader
Kate began her career teaching English in a large secondary school near Birmingham. After four years, she moved into the FE sector, teaching A level English Literature at Matthew Boulton College (now Birmingham Metropolitan College) in Birmingham city centre. Moving to the North West in 2009, Kate taught a number of A level and level 2 courses at Pendleton Sixth Form College. Kate came to work at Rochdale Sixth Form College in 2016. Here she taught A level English Literature before joining the SPDL team in 2021. Although a new member of the RSFC pastoral team, Kate has always been passionate about students’ emotional and personal growth, and is dedicated to supporting young people achieve their academic goals. Away from college, Kate enjoys gardening, singing and writing short stories.
