On Wednesday 20 September, 48 of our Art and Design students visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Students were gathering inspiration for their own sculptural creations, absorbing insights into artistic processes, and engaging deeply with the new exhibitions within the park's landscape.

Amongst these exhibitions were the works of Erwin Wurm's 'Trap of the Truth,' the 'Relics in the Landscape' by Daniel Arsham, and the weathered wood sculptures of Leonardo Drew, nestled within the chapel.

Jen Ashworth, an RSFC student, commented, "It was amazing! Walking around the park and seeing all the incredible sculptures was really inspiring for my own practical work."

Moreover, students explored the vast landscape littered with sculptures, adorned with an eclectic array of sculptures, ranging from abstract art to the captivating expressions of land art, and even the enigmatic creations of Damien Hurst. This unique setting provided a remarkable perspective on the grandeur of sculpture within an entirely different environment, allowing students to gain a deeper appreciation for the artistic process—one that extended far beyond the confines of a traditional studio.
