Physics students brought home the medals at this year's British Physics Olympiad! (BPhO)

The college enjoyed success in this year's national competition scooping 5silver awards and 14 bronze awards.

Twenty-one Year 12 Physics students took part in the annual contest which saw them attempt a set of difficult physics problems which included a complex analysis of the mechanics of an accelerating rod.

Head of Physics Jen Coyle said: We’re so proud of the students who competed. They all showed resilience and determination in order to attempt the problems and they came out with superb results.

The BPhO aims to encourage the study of Physics and to recognise excellence in young Physicists through 13 annual Physics competitions.
