Last term, 40 year 13 History students visited the historic city of York. Students began their journey by walking around the medieval city, followed by a visit to the reconstructed medieval townhouse, Barley Hall. Students also embarked on a self-guided tour around York Minster.

After a busy morning, students made their way to the infamous battle site at Towton, which saw the largest and bloodiest battle on English soil in 1461. Before heading back to Rochdale, students visited the Pontefract Castle, a site that witnessed many executions, and the castle at Sandal, which overlooks the 1460 Battle of Wakefield.

These historic locations provided an exceptional opportunity for students to delve deeper into the rich cultural history of England.
