The Archbishop of York and Bishop of Manchester visit RSFC

The Archbishop of York and the Bishop of Manchester recently visited RSFC to speak to Theology, Philosophy, and Ethics students. The two religious leaders shared their insights on a range of topics related to faith, morality, and the role of religion in contemporary society.

The Archbishop of York began by discussing the importance of theology in understanding the nature of God and the role of religion in people's lives. He emphasised that theology can help individuals develop a deeper understanding of their faith and provide a framework for moral decision-making.

Throughout the discussion, the religious leaders spoke about the importance of engaging with different perspectives and engaging in respectful dialogue with those who hold different beliefs. The students in attendance had the opportunity to ask questions including why the Archbishop chose the Church of England, and why he was a man of faith and he told the group several stories and discussed the importance of storytelling in the bible. Many students expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from such experienced and knowledgeable religious leaders.

Overall, the visit by the Archbishop of York and the Bishop of Manchester was a valuable experience for TPE students. It provided them with insights into the role of religion and ethics in contemporary society and encouraged them to think critically about their own beliefs and values.
