Legally Blonde: A Recap of the Unforgettable College Show
The college’s production of "Legally Blonde: The Musical" was an overwhelming success, with all performances from March 26-28 completely sold out! The run included a special matinee for local schools on Wednesday that received an enthusiastic standing ovation from visiting staff and students. It was amazing to see the show performed at the college, especially as the original 2020 version was sadly cancelled due to Covid restrictions.
Our talented students brought the story of Elle Woods to life with energy, humour, and impressive musical performances, including some tricky choreography with skipping ropes whilst singing. The dedication and hard work of everyone involved was evident in every scene, dance number, and musical performance.
What makes this achievement even more impressive is that students have been diligently practicing as part of their enrichment programme since September, showing remarkable resilience when they had to completely change the entire show in October. Despite this significant challenge, they rose to the occasion with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Beyond performing on stage, our students also took on crucial production roles including stage design, lighting, and audio technician positions, working alongside staff members to ensure every technical aspect of the show ran smoothly. This hands-on experience provided valuable skills in theatrical production beyond acting and singing.
We look forward to announcing our next theatrical venture in September.
