School of Maths - Simon Singh talk

Students from the School of Maths had the exciting opportunity to hear from Simon Singh MBE, a renowned author and mathematician. Simon spoke about his educational journey, from studying Physics at Imperial College London to completing his PhD at Cambridge, where he later worked as a researcher and admissions tutor. He also discussed his career as a writer, sharing insights into the books he has authored and the fascinating mathematical and scientific concepts they explore.

Ahead of his visit, students selected one of Simon’s books to read and will be delivering presentations on their chosen topics in the week commencing 3rd March. His talk provided a valuable perspective on the connections between mathematics, science, and storytelling, inspiring students to explore the subject beyond the classroom.
