Rochdale Sixth Form College Students Take on the Big Apple!

Students from Rochdale Sixth Form College have returned from an unforgettable February half-term trip to the incredible city of New York! Braving the rain and freezing temperatures, our students fully embraced the energy and excitement of the Big Apple, making memories to last a lifetime.
The action-packed itinerary saw students scaling the heights of the iconic Empire State Building, taking in breath taking panoramic views of the city skyline. They also paid a moving visit to the 9/11 Museum, gaining a deeper understanding of the historical impact of the events of September 11th. No trip to New York would be complete without a visit to the Statue of Liberty, and our students were in awe of the famous symbol of freedom.
Exploring the city on foot, they strolled along the High Line, a unique elevated park offering stunning views of Manhattan, before indulging in the culinary delights of Chelsea Market. The trip also featured an unforgettable evening on Broadway, where students were captivated by the magic of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
The group also took in the sights while walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, experiencing the blend of history and modernity that makes New York so special. In true NYC fashion, students rode the subway, shopped till they dropped, and sampled an array of delicious food, immersing themselves in the city’s vibrant culture.
Throughout the trip, our students were a credit to the college, demonstrating enthusiasm, resilience, and an adventurous spirit. They covered miles each day, refusing to let the cold or the rain dampen their experience. Their positivity and willingness to embrace every opportunity made this trip a truly special one.
A huge thank you to the staff who made this trip possible, and to our fantastic students for making it so enjoyable. Until next time, New York!
