Celebrating Success: A Night of Achievement at RSFC

Rochdale Sixth Form College hosted its annual Celebration Evening on Wednesday, 18 December 2024. The event was a chance to celebrate the exceptional achievements of the past two years, with students, staff, and alumni coming together for the occasion. Former students returned to the college to receive their official exam certificates and celebrate their outstanding contributions during their time at Rochdale Sixth Form College.

Principal Karl Smith presented a series of awards to acknowledge remarkable accomplishments. Chloe Carroll was named Student of the Year for her exceptional dedication, passion, and resilience. Her enthusiasm for her studies, particularly in pursuing Veterinary Science, shone brightly throughout her time at college. Chloe’s tireless work ethic, positivity, and ability to inspire those around her created a supportive atmosphere for both peers and staff.

Qasim Amin was recognised for Outstanding Dedication. His ability to excel academically while mentoring others and advancing his professional development exemplified a commitment to success that stood out among his peers.

Jhony Hernandez Castro was also honoured for Outstanding Dedication. His incredible perseverance and focus on achieving his goals were a testament to his unwavering determination. Jhony’s journey highlights the rewards of hard work, and his achievements serve as an inspiration to everyone at the college.

Lauren Sanderson was celebrated for her Outstanding Contribution to College Life. As Student Union President, Lauren balanced her academic commitments with an active role in supporting college events, staff, and fellow students, making her an integral part of the college community.

Finally, Elizabeth Crompton received the award for Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community. Her compassionate leadership and efforts to create positive change demonstrated her dedication to making a meaningful impact, both within and beyond the college.

Principal Karl Smith commented: "The evening was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the incredible achievements of our students. Their hard work, passion, and determination have left a lasting impact on our college community, and we are immensely proud of their success."
