Sociology Berlin Trip 2024
Students from the Sociology department recently visited Berlin to enrich their studies of the subject. One student, Anna Vasey, had this to say about the trip:
'The Berlin trip was great and I wish I could go back there! Experiencing so much of the city's culture was a privilege, as well as getting such an in-depth experience of Berlin's history through all the sites we visited, such as The Jewish Memorial Museum and Berlin Wall walking tour. I learnt lots from the Reichstag visit and the British Embassy talk from a sociological standpoint, to better understand how societies in other countries are governed. I enjoyed the mix of learning and fun, with our visits to the Berlin Zoo and Flea Market that we managed to fit in as well. The freedom the teachers gave us to be able to explore such a diverse and bustling city with our friends was really appreciated and enhanced the trip, allowing us to see the beautiful annual Festival of Lights while we were there. I had such a great time, with all the people on the trip and the cultural experience which I’ll take away with me.'
