Carnegie Mental Health Award - Silver
Following a comprehensive review of the wellbeing support provided by the college, we are proud to announce that we have been awarded The Carnegie Mental Health Award at Silver level for the outstanding mental health and wellbeing provision. This award acknowledges the college’s excellence in wellbeing support provided by a dedicated team of Student Performance and Development Leaders, BACP counsellors and the wider college community. The assessment process highlighted many areas of excellence, including the student mental health ambassadors, the enrichment offer and the one-to-one support provided. A range of wellbeing topics are explored through the tutorial programme and weekly assemblies, with guest speakers providing an insight into positive wellbeing and the
impact this has on an individual’s academic and personal life. Karl Smith commented, ‘This award is a testament to the college’s unwavering commitment to promoting mental health and wellbeing among its students and staff. This supplements the significant steps that the college has already taken in prioritising mental health by ensuring that all SPDLs are trained as Mental Health First Aiders. Together, these achievements reflect RSFC’s holistic approach to student development, ensuring that academic success is complemented by emotional and mental wellbeing. The college community can take pride in these accomplishments, knowing that everyone here is part of a community that truly values and supports every aspect of students’ lives.’
