Ryan who is currently studying for his GCSEs at Bacup & Rawtenstall Grammar School spent a week at Rochdale Sixth Form College to work in the college’s busy IT Department.
Ryan has shown a keen interest in computers since an early age and is hoping to study Computer Science at University. He thoroughly enjoyed his week and immersed himself into his IT Support role by taking on tasks such as; password resets, network patching, smart board fixing, computer classroom repair, IT suite reimaging and even supporting the A Level exam set up.
Kirk Charlesworth-Cairns, IT Network Manager said: “We were very impressed with Ryan’s enthusiasm, dedication and eagerness to learn. He was ony too keen to help and loved to keep busy which is great. I hope that Ryan has gained a good insight into what life is like working in an IT Department.”
Ryan said: “It was nice to work in a team environment and put my knowledge into practice, I’ve found that a lot of the Computer science GCSE specification actually carries over to the practical work I’ve helped out with here.”
