Students take part in health professions experience day

Health and Social Care students recently attended The University of Salford for a health professions experience day.

As part of the visit, students attended talks from lecturers on careers in midwifery, adult and child nursing and mental health nursing. Students had the opportunity to view the facilities at the University, including the simulation wards and dummies and some students were able to take medical observations on the dummies.

Lecturers set a Snapchat challenge for the students in which they had to explore the campus and create photos or videos to post on social media about life at The University of Salford

Y12 student Sarah commented: “I couldn’t believe that the dummies could talk and tell us their symptoms, some could even give birth! The facilities at the University are great and this was a brilliant opportunity for us to find out more about health professions”
