All Year 13 students at Rochdale Sixth Form College engage in our Social Development Programme. The programme is broken down into nine key areas – Literacy & the Arts, Mental Health & Wellbeing, The Environment, Sport & Healthy Lifestyles, Social Media, The Young, The Elderly, Homelessness and Animal Welfare. The Social Development Programme complements our bespoke enrichment programme and is designed for students to develop six essential skills:
- Leadership skills
- Team work skills
- Problem solving
- Presentation skills
- Time management
- Applied numeracy and literacy skills
As part of the programme some students involved ignited a campaign to support the Rochdale Christmas gift & shoe box appeal in collaboration with Rochdale Borough Council and The Rotary Club of Rochdale.
We’re really proud of the huge contribution our staff and students have made towards the campaign, we’ve collected a staggering 95 toys and 55 shoe boxes! A huge thank you to all who participated, your support will have a big impact on those in need.
If you would like to find out more about our social development programme and how we’re working with the local community or think we can help your organisation, please get in touch.
